Jeffrey Kaddu, MCIArb

Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, Associate at AF Mpanga Advocates

Jeffrey Kaddu is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group at AF Mpanga Advocates.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and affiliated with several international arbitration networks, including YIAG, WIPO ADR Young, and the LCIA African Users Council.

Jeffrey holds an LLB from Makerere University, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and certificates in International Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and WIPO. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in International Arbitration at the Basel Winter Arbitration School.

He has participated in domestic and international arbitrations involving commercial, corporate, intellectual property, and construction disputes before CADER, ICAMEK, and ad hoc tribunals. He has also served as Tribunal Secretary to eminent Ugandan jurists, including Rtd. Hon. Justice Yorokamu Bamwine and Rtd. Justice Patrick Tabaro, in several high-value arbitral and mediation proceedings.

Jeffrey serves on the Advisory Board of the Arbitration Fund for African Students (AFAS), the CIArb–Uganda Young Members Committee, and the EALS ADR Committee.

He has authored several scholarly publications and articles on arbitration and investment law, including a book chapter titled “The Green Transition and Uganda’s Investment Policy” in Obianjuwa Ama (Ed.), International Investment Law Reform: Contemporary Issues and Solutions (Routledge, 2025), a feature article on the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, and an analysis piece in the CIArb Uganda Newsletter among others.

Beyond legal practice, Jeffrey is passionate about leadership, governance, and farming.
